We live in Greece and have been touring throughout the country for many years. The beauty and spectacular scenery of rural Greece has not changed over the years. The only change is in the new roads giving access to many more magnificent places. Few visitors see, or even know of, the places we can show you.

Most Greek tourism is directed to the islands, most of which now have airports and have become very overcrowded in the summer. Mainland Greece and the Peloponnese have been left unspoiled, traffic free and a delight to all.

With over 11 years of touring we have the expertise and the experience to get you to the most famous sites by trafficfree routes and to show you many lesser known places in Greece you would never find on your own. The days are leisurely, the recommended lunch stops are charming and tourist free, the friendly hotels (all with bathrooms) know us well and look after our guests. All the hotels are by the sea or have pools. Dinners are not included because there is so much pleasure in strolling along the harbours where there are so many excellent and moderately priced seaside taverns to chose from.

With the comprehensive route book, you won't get lost in spite of the fact that many signposts are only in Greek. Many turns are not signed at all but the route book will show you where to turn. And if you do stray and lose your way, one call on the mobile phone provided will put you back on track.

Car rental generally means: here's the car and (maybe) a map, see you next week and if you're an hour late that will cost you another day! Triumph Touring car rental is like having your big sister in Greece supporting you; no petty quibbles; no hidden extras; you can call for help whenever you want to (either directional or linguistic) on the cell phone provided; route book, maps and other info provided; hotels double checked before you arrive; met at the airport and driven to an A class hotel 2 minutes walk from the Acropolis; driven out of Athens on the first day; met outside Athens and driven back to your hotel on the last day.

The tours include: car rental, full insurance, airport meeting and transfer to the first hotel in Athens, route book and maps, hotels b/b, mobile phone and all assistance throughout the tour.

Cost: 270 euros per day for 2 people in a small car (Fiat Punto type); 370 euros for 4 people (2 hotel rooms per night). 300 euros for a larger car or jeep per 2 people, 400 per 4 persons.

The tours of Greece are designed for those who enjoy both smooth, straight roads and wonderful winding mountain passes. The routes, which are all paved, take minor roads where possible, are mostly traffic free and take you through some of the most fantastic scenery you'll ever see. The Peloponnese (South) has many so places to visit. The North has less sites but even more wonderful driving and spectacular panoramas. Thanks to EU funding, new roads are continuously being built, and each year we find superb alternatives that are known to few. If you join one of our tours, you will know more about Greece than the Greeks! Motorbikes, cars, jeeps & minibuses are available too.

If you like to travel alone, you can experience a new concept in individual travel with 2 or 4 wheels, by yourselves but with full support. You choose dates and locations. We'll route it to include the best and lesser known historical sites through wonderful scenery and at 250 euros per day, per couple in/on one vehicle and all included, it's a bargain! It means that you are free to go at your own pace but secure in the knowledge that you have a great hotel at the end of the day, that you will have seen all the best and that you can call on us whenever you have a problem, linguistic or directional. The two tours listed below can be extended or reduced to a minimum of 4 days. Take as many days as you like, whenever you like.

Do you know where these are?? Greece for the holiday of a lifetime. Join us and find out!

Some comments:

Our tours are not just for tough motorcyclists! Erudite academics with a keen desire to see for themselves and learn even more, Ellen Quandahl, Larry Wheeler and Steve & Cherry Barney, who (to my shame!) know much more than I do about Ancient Greece, took a car and had a great time when they came in March/ April. They wrote:

"Deb Stagonakis, of Triumph Bike Tours, is a fabulous organizer.  On our Peloponnese tour, we covered more ground, on more interesting roads, and saw more fascinating sites than we would have found on our own.  The routes were beautifully mapped, and the roads took us through truly breathtaking and richly varied country.  We fell in love with Greece, and are hard-pressed to say which is best among our many favorite sites.  The landscape is gorgeous and the ancient sites are truly moving.  We were there in the spring, when wildflowers and greenery were a great bonus.   The hotels were terrific.  They ranged from simple to elegant, and each had real character.  All were scrupulously clean, and the breakfasts set us up for each day's travel.  The proprietors were friendly and helpful.  Every restaurant and taverna that Deb recommended was a winner.   Each time we look at our pictures, we are reminded that this was among the best trips we've ever done.   Ellen Quandahl and Larry Wheeler Irvine, California

From Mike and Pam Krebs, San Jose:

"Pam and I  had a wonderful time from start to finish and have been telling everyone how well thought out and executed the tour was - a bargain at twice the price." The Peloponnese Tour.

From Arthur and Jackie Boyle, South Africa:

" Northern Greece in May was magnificent: some of the best riding country in the world with great roads in terrific scenery. A really different way to see Greece, with all arrangements taken care of by a truly friendly organisation."

John Miley California: "The seven of us were pleased beyond any expectations. Your planning and execution are that of a TRUE professional. The route, lodging, meals right down to the therapeutic bath make memories that will endure. Any one could show us the country side but we are of the belief that you make the whole event special and unique. We will be back for another one of your trips. For my self, the added effort you put into the arrangements for my excursion to Rome were precise and for such a short duration were also enjoyable".

From Peter and Vasiliki Sotiriou, California

My family and I just got back from Greece in mid-July. I just wanted to thank you for the tip about Triumph Bike/Car Tours. I was thrilled when I read that the tour could be done by car as well as by motorbike. The four of us had a great time on the Agamemnon Tour of Greece. Deborah Stagonakis has set-up a wonderful tour of northern and southern Greece with breathtaking stops, great hotels, and lots of great suggestions. We have been to Greece many times and (this time) saw places we had never seen before. Deborah is so helpful and very professional. She did so many things above and beyond simply setting up our tour. She would even call us at our hotel to check up on us. I cannot say enough nice things about her tour or about the lady herself. I highly recommend this tour. It is a wonderful way for a family to see village life, monasteries, ruins, beaches, and all those things that make Greece so unique. We cannot stop talking about our tour. Vasiliki Sotiriou.

Many, many thanks for your kind words, everyone. I'm so happy when people enjoy themselves in the real Greece! Deb
